XRP fell for a third straight day to about $1.27 on Saturday, and CoinGlass data showed $7.55 million in long liquidations against just $375,910 in shorts. That is a 2,008% imbalance, even as on-chain data shows a record 8.24 million non-empty XRP Ledger wallets.

XRP bulls had a rough Saturday. The token dropped 3.09% over 24 hours to around $1.27, extending a slide that began with Thursday’s sharp decline into a third straight day, U.Today reported. Traders who had positioned for a rebound were caught on the wrong side.
Longs liquidated 20 times faster than shorts
According to CoinGlass data cited by U.Today, XRP saw $7.92 million in total liquidations. Long positions made up $7.55 million of that, while shorts accounted for only $375,910. The result is a liquidation imbalance of 2,008%, meaning leveraged bullish bets were wiped out at a far higher rate than bearish ones.
The selloff was not limited to XRP. Across the crypto market, $667.71 million in positions were liquidated over 24 hours, and $528.30 million of that came from longs. Renewed pressure in global markets erased gains from earlier in the week, with Bitcoin slipping below $80,000 on Saturday as CoinDesk linked the move to reports of U.S. evacuations across the Middle East.
On-chain data tells a different story
While price is weak, network activity keeps growing. Santiment data cited in the report shows the XRP Ledger reached a record 8.24 million non-empty wallets, and network growth hit 4,772 new wallets in a single day, the fifth-largest spike since March.
XRP’s MVRV ratio sits around 0.92, which means the average holder is in a net loss. Historically, that has been a lower-risk zone than periods when holders sit on large profits, though it is no guarantee of a bottom.
Levels to watch
- $1.40: the first resistance. U.Today’s analysis says a sustained move above it, with daily new wallets near or above 4,000, could open a quick return to $1.50.
- $1.30: already lost on Saturday. If new-wallet creation also drops below roughly 3,000 a day, the adoption signal weakens in the short term.
There was also positive ecosystem news: Swiss-regulated platform Arf is partnering with Ripple to bring RLUSD-powered settlement liquidity to licensed cross-border payment firms on the XRP Ledger.
What it means for traders
- Leverage is the main risk. A 2,008% imbalance shows how crowded the long side was. Lower leverage and wider stops help survive weekend wicks.
- Watch funding and liquidation maps. One-sided liquidations can flush out weak hands, but they can also continue if the broader market keeps falling.
