How to Get a Token Listed on a Crypto Exchange

What centralized and decentralized exchanges ask for before listing a token, the typical listing process, costs to expect and how to prepare.

Last updated:

Short answer: on a DEX anyone can list a token by creating a liquidity pool, while a centralized exchange (CEX) decides through its own review. CEX listing teams typically check the team and legal structure, smart contract security, token distribution, liquidity and market making, community and trading demand, and regulatory risk. Preparing these documents in advance and targeting exchanges that fit your stage is the most reliable path.

DEX vs CEX listing

A DEX listing is permissionless: you deploy the token, add liquidity to a pool and traders can swap it. The challenge is liquidity and visibility. A CEX listing gives access to the exchange’s users and fiat on-ramps, but requires approval and often fees or commitments. See CEX vs DEX for the differences.

The listing process step by step

  1. Build a shortlist of exchanges that list projects at your stage and in your region.
  2. Prepare a listing kit: project summary, audit reports, tokenomics, legal opinion, market maker plan and links.
  3. Submit through the official listing form or a verified listing manager. Be careful with unofficial agents who promise guaranteed listings.
  4. Answer due diligence questions and agree on commercial terms.
  5. Plan the launch: liquidity, announcements and campaigns.

Frequently asked questions

How much does it cost to list a token on an exchange?

Costs vary widely and are set by each exchange. Some charge listing fees or ask for marketing or liquidity commitments, others list for free. Get the terms in writing from the exchange itself.

How long does a CEX listing take?

From a few weeks to several months, depending on due diligence and how prepared your documents are.

Can a listing be guaranteed?

No. Every exchange makes its own decision. Be cautious with anyone who guarantees a listing for a fee.

Do I need a MiCA white paper?

If you offer the token to the public or seek admission to trading in the EU, MiCA may require a crypto-asset white paper. Get legal advice for your case.

Can TradeReviewed introduce us to exchange listing teams?

Yes. We work with exchange business and listing teams and can make warm introductions once we have reviewed your project. Submit the form on our Get listed page.
