Our principles

What we score

Area What we check
Fees Spot and futures maker and taker fees at the base tier, VIP tiers, discounts, deposit and withdrawal fees.
Regulation Licences and registrations per country or region, checked on official registers, plus regulator warnings.
Safety Proof of reserves (method and frequency), security incidents, custody and account protection options.
Products Spot, futures, options, copy trading, bots, earn products and their availability by region.
Deposits and withdrawals Payment methods, fiat currencies, limits and processing.
Markets Number of coins and pairs, liquidity on major pairs.
Platform Web and mobile apps, order types, API.
Support Channels, hours and languages.
Offers Sign-up offers and their real conditions. Offers do not add points to the score.

Where the data comes from

We use the exchange’s own published pages (fee schedules, terms, proof of reserves reports), official regulator registers (for example the ESMA interim MiCA register, the FCA register, FinCEN’s MSB search, the VARA public register and the MAS Financial Institutions Directory) and, where possible, our own test accounts.

How often we update

We re-check key data on a regular schedule and whenever an exchange announces a change. The “last verified” date on each row shows when it was checked.
