US spot Bitcoin exchange-traded funds recorded $137.94 million in net outflows on Friday, October 23, according to SoSoValue data cited by U.Today. Together with Thursday’s $635.49 million of withdrawals, the largest single-day outflow since late June, the two sessions added up to $773.43 million leaving the funds.

Which funds saw the money leave

BlackRock’s iShares Bitcoin Trust (IBIT) led Friday’s outflows with $110.34 million. Fidelity’s Wise Origin Bitcoin Fund (FBTC) lost $31.78 million. Morgan Stanley’s MSBT went the other way with $4.19 million of net inflows.

The picture over the full week is less negative. Despite the two heavy days, weekly spot Bitcoin ETF flows still ended positive at roughly $228.2 million, because of inflows earlier in the week.

Franklin Templeton news did not stop the selling

The withdrawals came as Franklin Templeton, which manages about $1.8 trillion, received Nasdaq approval to list two Bitcoin-linked funds: the Franklin US Equity Bitcoin DRIP Index ETF (FBEQ) and the Franklin US Innovation Bitcoin DRIP Index ETF (FIBT). Unlike classic spot ETFs, these products mainly hold US equities and use a strategy that gradually accumulates Bitcoin, so they are not built to track the BTC price directly.

Price levels to watch

Bitcoin was trading near $80,600 on Saturday, down about 1.4% over 24 hours on OKX data. On the daily chart BTC is still above its 100-day moving average, near $77,500, and its 200-day average, around $76,200, and both are rising.

The first support is the round $80,000 level. A daily close below it would put the 100-day average in play. Open interest in futures remains elevated, which means a break lower could trigger forced liquidations of leveraged longs and speed up the move.
