Crypto news outlet Decrypt is integrating Solana trading platform Jupiter so readers can swap tokens from self-custodial Decrypt Money Accounts without leaving the site, starting with major cryptocurrencies and expanding to Solana tokens, tokenized stocks and commodities.
A crypto newsroom wants its readers to trade the headlines. Decrypt announced a partnership with Jupiter, Solana’s largest trading platform, to bring token swaps directly into its news site through its Decrypt Money Accounts.
What it does
Readers will be able to swap tokens from their Decrypt Money Accounts without switching platforms, connecting external wallets or moving funds, according to Decrypt’s announcement. The integration starts with a select group of major cryptocurrencies before expanding to the wider Solana token universe, tokenized stocks, commodities and other real world assets. Additional Jupiter products, beginning with Earn, are planned.
Decrypt Money Accounts launched on Solana earlier this month as a single self-custodial account. With one dollar deposit, users are meant to access trading, prediction markets, yield and eventually perpetual futures.
The Information Exchange
The partnership is part of what Decrypt calls The Information Exchange, a vision announced in September for merging news, live data and markets. “Whether you’re reading about Bitcoin, a public company or a commodity, our vision is that you should be able to trade it right there,” said co-founder and COO Ilan Hazan. Planned “Situation Rooms” would combine breaking news, prices and prediction market odds on a topic.
Why it matters
Media companies and wallets are converging. Phantom added Kalshi prediction markets, Robinhood offers news and trading in one app, and now a publisher is embedding a DEX. The approach raises editorial questions: when a news site earns from trading, readers will want clear separation between coverage and commercial incentives.
