Dogecoin Labs launches to turn DOGE’s community into real apps

24 Oct 2026

TL;DR

Dogecoin Labs, formed with the Dogecoin Foundation and led by MyDoge founder Jordan Jefferson, consolidates the MyDoge wallet, the DogeOS app platform and the Such App merchant payments tool into one independent company aimed at giving DOGE more everyday uses.

The best known meme coin now has a company dedicated to building on it. Dogecoin Labs, announced on Tuesday, was formed together with the Dogecoin Foundation to bring the products, intellectual property and development teams scattered across the Dogecoin world into one independent organization.

What Dogecoin Labs owns

According to Decrypt, the company will own and operate three flagship products: the MyDoge wallet, the DogeOS app platform and Such App, a merchant payments tool, with assets and staff contributed by the Foundation and House of Doge. It is led by chief executive Jordan Jefferson, founder of MyDoge and DogeOS. Plans span wallets, payments, commerce, trading, DeFi, gaming, AI and social apps.

“No other digital asset has Dogecoin’s combination of liquidity, community and cultural reach, and its potential has barely been tapped,” Jefferson said, adding that after years of “DOGE to $1” chants, the goal is to build the economy that ambition requires.

The groundwork

DogeOS launched a testnet on 30 September for Dogecoin apps, and MyDoge, which grew past 500,000 users without paid acquisition, rolled out a V3 update connecting the wallet to those apps. With Such App’s merchant rails, the products are meant to link developers, consumers and businesses. The Foundation will continue stewardship, open source support and advocacy, while Labs handles commercial development.

A soft market

DOGE traded around $0.084 on Tuesday, up 3.9% on the day for a market cap near $13 billion, but down about 14% over a month and roughly 88% below its May 2021 record. Institutional interest is mixed: a 21Shares DOGE ETF launched on Nasdaq this year, while Bitwise closed its Dogecoin fund, citing low demand.
