Futu opens BNB deposits and withdrawals for Hong Kong professional investors

24 Oct 2026

TL;DR

Hong Kong broker Futu Securities now lets qualified users move BNB on and off its platform via BNB Smart Chain, through its SFC licensed subsidiary PantherTrade. Access is limited to professional investors with at least HK$8 million, and external wallets must be whitelisted.

BNB has a new on and off ramp in Hong Kong. Broker Futu Securities has launched direct deposits and withdrawals of BNB via the BNB Smart Chain network, according to U.Today, and Binance founder Changpeng Zhao highlighted the move on X.

What changed

Users of Futu’s Futubull and moomoo brands could previously trade BNB only inside the broker’s closed system. Now qualified investors can move the actual token between external wallets and their Futu accounts. The service runs through PantherTrade, a Futu subsidiary licensed by Hong Kong’s Securities and Futures Commission.

Who can use it

Onchain transfers are limited to professional investors with at least HK$8 million, about $1 million, in assets. External wallet addresses must be verified and whitelisted for anti money laundering compliance, and withdrawals can take up to three business days.

Hong Kong’s crypto build-out

The move comes during a busy month for Hong Kong digital finance. HSBC launched its RedCoin Hong Kong dollar stablecoin inside the PayMe app for 3.3 million users, and the city keeps expanding licensed crypto trading through its virtual asset trading platform regime. Brokers like Futu, which is listed on Nasdaq, give crypto assets direct access to traditional Asian retail and wealth clients.

Why it matters for BNB

Listings on regulated brokers improve legitimacy and access for tokens outside the bitcoin and ether duopoly. For BNB, the native token of Binance’s ecosystem, a licensed Hong Kong route is notable given Binance’s own limited presence in the city. The professional investor threshold, however, keeps the audience narrow for now.
