Polygon Solana stablecoin payments: Open Money Stack expands to Solana, Kira first to adopt

29 Oct 2026

TL;DR

Polygon Labs is bringing its Open Money Stack, a bundle of stablecoin payment tools, to Solana for the first time. Businesses on Solana get one integration for bank funding, embedded wallets, cross-chain transfers and global payouts, with cross-border payments firm Kira among the first users.

Polygon Labs is taking its stablecoin payments infrastructure to a rival network. The company said its Open Money Stack, a bundle of payments tools, is now available on Solana for the first time, according to Decrypt. The Block also reported the expansion.

One integration instead of several providers

The product targets a familiar problem in crypto payments. Moving tokens on chain is easy, but getting money from a bank account into a wallet, converting it and landing it in a recipient’s bank usually means stitching together several providers, each with its own integration and contract. Open Money Stack bundles that into one technical connection and one commercial relationship, and businesses can use all of it or pick individual pieces.

Through the stack, a Solana business can connect bank, card, cash and crypto funding routes, create embedded wallets, route and convert funds across networks including Polygon, Ethereum and Tron, and pay out to bank accounts, cards or wallets. Decrypt’s example: a remittance provider could take dollars from a sender, deliver USDC on Solana and connect the recipient to a bank payout.

“Every bank and fintech that wants to use crypto faces the same problem: connecting them to the accounts and payment systems its customers already use,” said Sandeep Nailwal, co-founder and CEO of the Polygon Foundation.

Kira among the first users

Cross-border payments firm Kira is one of the first to adopt Solana through the stack. It uses it to help clients turn stablecoin transfers into dollars in their bank accounts so they can pay overseas suppliers.

Why Solana

Solana has processed more than $5 trillion in stablecoin volume this year, according to the Solana Foundation as cited by Decrypt. The network recently rolled out an institutional settlement standard with input from J.P. Morgan and went live with its Alpenglow upgrade. For Polygon, the move extends a broader payments push that includes its acquisition of crypto cash firm Coinme.

What it means for traders

This is infrastructure news rather than a token event, and neither report tied it to any change for POL or SOL holders. It does show competing chains cooperating on payments, where stablecoin volume, not token price, is the metric to watch.
