Polymarket gold and silver markets go live with 15-minute up/down contracts

30 Oct 2026

TL;DR

Polymarket has launched short-duration gold and silver up/down markets, starting with 15-minute windows and using Chainlink as its oracle. The move takes the prediction market's fast crypto contracts into precious metals as gold trades near its 2026 low.

Polymarket gold and silver markets are now live. The prediction market announced on X on Friday, October 30, 2026 (18:02 UTC) that 15-minute up/down markets for gold and silver are open, with Chainlink named as its official oracle partner for high-speed up/down markets. “We’re just getting started,” the company added. Market news accounts later reported the metals markets are available worldwide in 15-minute, hourly and daily formats.

How the contracts work

Up/down markets ask one simple question: will the price be higher or lower at the end of the window than at the start? Traders buy “Up” or “Down” shares priced between 1 and 99 cents, and the winning side pays $1 per share. Polymarket already runs the same format for crypto. Earlier this month it brought 5-minute BTC, ETH, SOL and XRP markets to its US app. Gold and silver are the first move of the fast format into traditional commodities, and Chainlink price feeds will decide which side wins.

Why gold and silver, why now

The timing fits a volatile tape. Gold fell below $3,900 an ounce on October 30, its lowest level of 2026 and roughly 30% under its January peak, as markets priced in the chance of a Federal Reserve rate hike in December, according to BeInCrypto. Analysts flagged $3,886 as a key support level. We covered how Fed expectations are hitting both assets in Bitcoin and gold after the Fed hold.

Short windows turn those swings into binary bets. For Polymarket, metals also widen its audience beyond crypto and politics at a time when centralized exchanges are pushing into the same space, offering gold, oil and other commodity products to crypto users.
