29 Oct 2026
XRP traded near $1.29 on October 29, about a quarter below the roughly $1.71 modeled acquisition cost of XRP held in US-listed funds. Yet holdings in the tracked funds fell only about 0.26% between October 23 and 28, data from XRP Insights cited by CryptoSlate show.

XRP is trading well below the estimated average cost of the tokens held by US-listed XRP funds, but so far the funds are not seeing a rush for the exit. That is the picture from tracker XRP Insights, as reported by CryptoSlate.
About 25% below modeled cost
XRP traded near $1.29 on October 29. XRP Insights estimates the acquisition cost of the six-product XRP fund portfolio at about $1.707 per XRP, or $1.712 when the XRP sleeve of the Bitwise 10 Crypto Index Fund (BITW) is included. That puts the price roughly 24.4% to 24.6% below the modeled cost.
In its October 28 snapshot, the tracker counted about 1.17 billion XRP of exposure across six products, rising to 1.19 billion with BITW.
Only a small decline in holdings
The tracker’s flow series shows a net reduction of about 2.96 million XRP over October 26 to 28. Comparing balances on October 23 and October 28 for the same group of funds, the decline is roughly 0.26%, leaving most exposure in place. Not every session was negative: October 28 added about 174,140 XRP.
Bitwise’s fund moved from about 416.61 million XRP on October 23 to 413.82 million on October 26 and then stayed flat, while Franklin Templeton and 21Shares were flat across the three sessions. Grayscale’s GXRP is excluded from the flow calculation because of a data gap.
Why the cost estimate has limits
CryptoSlate stressed that the model values holdings at daily reference prices and does not follow shareholders’ own trades, fees or premiums to net asset value. The estimate therefore cannot prove that ETF shareholders are collectively down 25%, and $1.71 is not a price floor or a liquidation level. Using prices implied by fund net asset values raises the estimate to about $1.746.
What it means for traders
- Fund holders are so far sitting through the drawdown, which limits forced selling pressure from this channel.
- A stronger signal would be sustained rises in both XRP holdings and shares outstanding across several issuers.
- The $1.71 area is a level many fund holders may watch as a break-even zone, not a guaranteed resistance.
